Al Gibson
A flamboyant character, Al “THE CAPTAIN” Gibson delights in the fun, yet respected RE/MAX balloon banner And its’ motto “Above The Crowd”. It sums up his conviction that buying or selling a home does not have to Be a stressful experience for the customer, but can, instead, be fun filled and rewarding.
Al spent the first 45 years of his life in the Calgary Music Industry…did very well…and, at one point, co-owned A small yacht that was moored in False Creek Marina in down town Vancouver B.C.
What a “rocking“ time That was!
During this time period, he became involved with Guy Johnston (a car guru, & subsequent owner of Nasty Fish Racing) from whom he bought his extensive list of automobiles over the years (many of which were Collectors Vehicles such as 66 Vette Stingray, 68 GTS Mustang, 92 Cadillac Allante Convertible etc. Under Guy’s knowledgeable tutelage, a love of speed & admiration of “muscle cars” was born.
When Guy & Amy Johnston formed Nasty Fish Racing, it was a “no-brainier” to somehow become involved. I certainly didn’t qualify as a Team Driver or Mechanic, so I started to become involved as a Merchandising Sponsor.
This relationship has been incredibly fun & rewarding. The “racing crowd” are a special breed all by themselves. Their exuberance of all that racing entails is infectious! (And guess what!….They too need homes for their Families and toys!).
I’ve experienced Nasty Fish Racing grow from a one Camaro project to a very expensive, complex racing Empire. Every year the NFR team takes charge more & more of the “Drags” in Western Canada & North Western U.S. Guy & Amy have never rested on their laurels. It’s exciting every year to see what they’ve Added to their racing fleet. Every winter it seems like they’re busy beavers, constantly adding more horse Power etc. For the upcoming racing season.
Definitely a fun industry to be involved with!
